Meetings

Public Information Meetings

Four (4) Public Information Meetings, two in each corridor, will be held to provide the public with the opportunity to review preliminary study findings and provide input.  These meetings will be held at key study milestones. Upcoming meeting dates, times, and locations will be posted here as they are determined. Summary reports of public meetings can be found on the Meeting Notes page.

Targeted Stakeholder Outreach Meetings

Meetings with key stakeholders will be conducted to ensure input from a variety of interest groups with a broad range of perspectives on transportation in general and these branch lines in particular. Input from these meetings will ensure that many different perspectives are heard.

Study Advisory Committee ( SAC) Meetings

Throughout the study process, the Study Advisory Committee (SAC ) will meet to learn of preliminary findings and to advise and inform the study team.  The SAC includes representatives of federal, state, regional and municipal agencies, as well as organizations or groups with a special interest in the transportation system in the study corridors of the Waterbury and New Canaan branch lines. Some of the groups represented on the SAC include the Connecticut Department of Transportation (ConnDOT), Transportation Strategy Board (TSB), Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection (CTDEP), Office of Policy and Management (OPM), Connecticut Department of Economic Community Development (DECD), the Federal Transit Administration, Federal Railroad Administration, CT Transit, CT Public Transportation Commission, CT Commuter Rail Council, Metro-North Railroad, and representatives from a variety of transit districts, railroad companies, commuter services, and bus companies.
